Wallingford native Lee Moffie (Lyman Hall, Avon Old Farms) and his University of Michigan squad lost in overtime 3-2 as the University of Minnesota-Duluth captured the 2011 NCAA division 1 men’s hockey crown.

Moffie, a sophomore defenseman for the Wolverines, was drafted by the San Jose Sharks in the 7th round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The New Haven Register recently featured an article on Moffie and his longtime friendship with fellow Wallingford native, and Boston College hockey standout, Pat Mullane.
