(NOTE: We’re a little late on this bit of news, but we still wanted to acknowledge the accomplishment)
Former Immaculate High School goaltender Rob Sutherland (Brookfield, CT), was named Goaltender of the Year by the Greater Metro Junior Hockey League in Canada. Playing for the South Muskoka Shield, Sutherland finished the 2010-2011 season with a 26-6-0 record and a 3.44 GAA. Congratulations Rob!
As a junior at Immaculate High School, Sutherland led the boy’s ice hockey team to the 2007 Connecticut Division 2 State Championship with a 3-2 win over East Haven.
In November, Sutherland was also featured in an article by The Hockey News. It detailed how the support of his teammates, and just playing hockey in general, helped him to cope with the sudden passing of his sister Jane.
