Raffi Torres scored the game’s lone goal with just 18.5 seconds left in regulation to send the Vancouver Canucks to a 1-0 victory over the Boston Bruins in game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.
Torres is best remembered in Connecticut for his time as a member of the Bridgeport Sound Tigers (2001-2003). His goal against Hamilton in game 7 the 2002 AHL Eastern Conference Finals sent the Sound Tigers to their only appearance in the Calder Cup Finals, where they eventually fell to the Chicago Wolves in five games.
