Congratulations to the Central Connecticut State University men’s ice hockey team for taking home the 2011 Governor’s Cup by defeating UConn 3-1, Saturday night in Newington. Jonathan Knobloch (West Haven, CT/Notre Dame-West Haven), Matt Siracusa (South Windsor, CT/South Windsor High School) and Conor Stanley (South Windsor, CT/South Windsor High School) each netted goals for the Blue Devils, while Greg Coco (Newington, CT/Hartford Jr. Wolfpack) got the win in net.

Craig Naclerio (Milford, CT/Loomis Chaffee) made 36 saves in the loss for UConn.


In the consolation game, Western Connecticut State University topped University of New Haven 10-6, behind three goals from Colin Neugold (Goshen, CT/Loomis-Chaffee).
