Brunswick’s Kevin Duane netted two goals, but Alec Mansfield (Bethany, CT/Amity HS) was up to the task, stopping 29 shots to lead Albany Academy to a 4-2 win over Brunswick on 12/30.

Former Salisbury goaltender Jon Gillies is opening some eyes with his outstanding play this season for Indiana Ice of the USHL.

Andrew Zona (Wallingford, CT/Lyman Hall HS) scored his first goal for Trinity-Pawling in a 3-1 loss to Loomis Chaffee on 12/17.

Chris Drakos (Mystic, CT/St. Bernard HS) has a 6-5-11 line through 8 games for the Brewster Academy boy’s ice hockey team. Drakos also serves as the team captain for the Bobcats.

Angela Ruggiero, a standout for the Choate girl’s hockey program in the ’90’s, announced her retirement from the U.S. Women’s National Team program.

Canterbury goaltender Austin Essery (Xavier HS/Middlefield, CT) was named to Edward G. Watkins All-Tournament Team for his performance at this year’s event, hosted by Cushing Academy.
