It all comes down to this

With the last full weekend of boy’s high school hockey complete in Connecticut, we’re starting to get a clearer picture of what the playing field will look like for the 2011-2012 playoffs will look like.

Before the the final brackets are released, there are still several teams who need at least one win to qualify:

Div. Team Record Games Left Notes
2 East Catholic 6-11-1 2/28 @Rocky Hill/RHAM/Middletown
2/29 @Milford Co-op
The Eagles need at least a win and a tie in order to qualify for the tournament – no small task since they play their final two games on the road.
3 Hall/Southington 7-11-1 2/29 Immaculate/New Fairfield Losers of 4 of their last 5 games, Hall/Southington’s rollercoaster season all comes down to this Wednesday.
3 Rockville/Manchester/Stafford 7-11-0 2/29 @Lyman Hall A tough loss on Saturday to E.O. Smith/Tolland/Windham forces RockMan into a must-win situation against a scrappy Lyman Hall squad looking to finish its season strong.
3 Rocky Hill/RHAM/Middletown 7-12-0 2/28 East Catholic An interesting match-up that pits two teams both needing to win the rest of their games in order to qualify.
3 Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo 6-12-0 2/27 @Shepaug/Litchfield/Nonnewaug
2/29 New Milford
After going 8-31-1 over the past two seasons, the Housatonic/Northwestern/Wamogo co-op is looking to make its first appearance in the state tournament since 2008-2009.
