WHY NEWINGTON/BERLIN IS GOING TO WIN IT: After starting the season 1-2-0, the Indians went undefeated the rest of the way, rattling off 17 straight victories – including wins over D1 and D2 opponents. With multiple scoring threats up front (Brendon Richard, Nick Briganti, Brandon Ralph) and strong goaltending (Drew O’Leary – 1.68 GAA, 5 shutouts), they are deeper and stronger than the rest of the field in D3.

After coming close in 2006 (2-0 loss to Cheshire), this will be the year that coach Dave Harackiewicz gets that elusive first state title.
