This is probably the most wide-open field we’ve seen in years. Daniel Hand seems to be a popular favorite, but there are probably 6 or 7 teams with a legitimate shot of making it to Ingalls Rink. Combine that with the fact that we love a dark horse and we’re going all in on North Branford.

WHY NORTH BRANFORD IS GOING TO WIN IT: Despite slumping late in the season, the T-Birds have shown that they can hang in there with anyone in Division 2 (2-1-1 against top-5 D2 opponents). They skate two lines that can put the puck in the net – including the state’s top scoring freshman Alec Martone – and showed flashes of shutdown defense throughout the year. If North Branford can play consistent defensively, they should be able to skate away from Ingalls with a title.
