Longtime Connecticut high school hockey coach Larry Vieira has been named as the boy’s ice hockey coach at Immaculate High School in Danbury. Immaculate currently competes in division 3 as part of a co-op team with New Fairfield High School.
Vieira spent 26 years as head coach coach at Branford High School, leading the Hornets to a division 2 state title in 1988, before moving on to Darien High School for two seasons (2009-2011). Vieira began the 2011-2012 season with the Staples/Weston/Shelton co-op hockey team, before taking a position on the staff at Manhattanville College (Purchase, NY).
He inherits a program that finished 2-17-1 in 2011-2012 and failed to qualify for the state tournament.
