CT College Hockey Round Up: 11/05/2012

After a disappointing loss at Dartmouth on Friday, Yale bounced back with a big 5-1 win on the road over (then) #13 Harvard. It was Harvard’s first loss on the year.



USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll

  • Both the Yale and Quinnipiac men’s teams received votes for this week’s USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll, but haven’t cracked the top 20.
  • The Trinity College women’s team also received 3 votes in the USCHO.com Division III Women’s Poll.

ACHA Division 2 Regional Rankings

  • UConn’s ACHA men’s hockey team is ranked #3 in the D2 Northeast Regional Rankings. CCSU is currently #13.



New Hartford, CT native Mike Cichy has started strong in his first season at Western Michigan University (NCAA – D1) with 6 points (1g, 5a) in his first 6 games. Per NCAA rules, Cichy sat out last season after transferring from the University of North Dakota.

Ryan Haggerty (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic HS) has 5 points (3g, 2a) in 6 games played for RPI (NCAA – D1) so far this season.

Frank Butler (East Haven, CT/East Haven HS/CT Junior Wolfpack) picked up two assists in his first collegiate game for Nichols College (NCAA – D3), an 8-1 win over Assumption.

Frank Pisano (East Haven, CT/East Haven HS) has 15 points (6g, 9a) in 7 games for Central Connecticut State University (ACHA – D2)

Peter Gintoli (Monreo, CT/Notre Dame Fairfield) has two goals in his first three games for Salve Regina University (NCAA – D3), including the game-winner against Nazareth College on 10/27.
