ACHA Division 2 Regional Rankings

  • UConn’s ACHA men’s hockey team is ranked #5 in the D2 Northeast Regional Rankings, down two spots from their previous high of #3.



The Quinnipiac men’s ice hockey team is currently riding an fourteen game (13-0-1) unbeaten streak.  The Bobcats’ last loss came on 11/6 vs AIC.

New Hartford native Mike Cichy has a 3-6-9 line through 18 games for #10 Western Michigan University.  This is Cichy’s first year for the Broncos after sitting out last season as a transfer from the University of North Dakota.  He was drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the seventh round (199th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Ryan Haggerty (Stamford, CT/Trinity Catholic HS/USNTDP) has 14 points (7g, 7a) for RPI so far this season for RPI, including a goal and an assist in Friday’s 3-2 OT loss to Boston University.

Salve Regina forward Peter Gintoli (Monroe, CT/Notre Dame Fairfield HS/Bay State Breakers) is currently tied for the NCAA D3 lead with 3 shorthanded goals.

Former Fairfield Prep standout Spencer Sodokoff (Greenwich, CT) has a 2-3-2 record with a 3.28 GAA between the pipes for Skidmore College this season.  A second team CHSCA All-State honoree in 2010, Sodokoff spent a year at Rice Memorial Prep in Vermont before enrolling at Skidmore in the fall of 2011.

Greenwich native Ollie Koo (Westminster School) is third in scoring for the #6 ranked Bowdoin College men’s ice hockey team.

Sam Scannell (Glastonbury, CT), has 4 goals and 8 assists for #14 ranked University of Rhode Island Rams (ACHA D1). Scannell, a freshman, played last year at Bridgton Academy in Maine.

Zach Boorman (Newington, CT/Northwest Catholic HS) is second in scoring for Roger Williams University (ACHA D2) with 17 points (7g, 10a) in 14 games.
