Local hockey players sign pro deals

Three Connecticut natives have recently signed new pro contracts:

Sean Backman (Greenwich, CT/Avon Old Farms/Yale University) re-signed with the Ontario Reign of the AHL. Backman spent the 2015-16 season with the Reign, where he lead the team in points (21-24-55.)

Tommy Cross (Simsbury, CT/Simsbury HS/Westminster) signed a one year, two-way deal with the Boston Bruins. He served as a team captain for Boston’s AHL affiliate in Providence last season.

Mike Paliotta (Westport, CT/Choate) signed with the New York Rangers. Paliotta won a Calder Cup championship with Lake Erie of the AHL in 2015-16.
