The Yale men’s hockey team crept up to #2 in the USCHO.com Division I Men’s Poll this week after a strong showing this past weekend. They also held on to the #2 spot for a second straight week in USA TODAY/USA Hockey men’s poll:

MEN’S COLLEGE HOCKEY
- Yale went 2-0 at home this weekend defeating rival Harvard 1-0 on Friday and beating Dartmouth 4-2 on Saturday.
- Qunnipiac men played well but came away winless on their upstate NY tour this past weekend, tying RPI and losing to Union in OT.
WOMEN’S COLLEGE HOCKEY
- Quinnipiac‘s Victoria Vigilante records 41 saves in loss to #10 Harvard.
- The #9 ranked (D3) Trinity College women’s ice hockey team topped in-state rival Wesleyan 5-3, improving to 12-3-4 overall. Rocky Hill, CT native Alexa Guglielmi (Loomis Chaffee) scored what proved to be the game-winner for Trinity in the first period.

Jeff Velleca (Waterbury, Notre Dame-Fairfield) had a goal and an assist as Merrimack handled UMass 11-2 on Saturday.
Joe Pereira (West Haven, South Kent) scored a goal as Boston University defeated UMass-Lowell 3-1.
Darric White (Fairfield, Fairfield Prep) has 2-0-2 line for Middlebury College men’s hockey team this season. Teammate Nick BonDurant (Choate) has been steady in net for the Panthers, posting a 3-4-2 record with a 1.98 GAA.
2007 New Haven Register boy’s hockey MVP Jonathan Cox (Norwalk, Fairfield Prep, Avon Old Farms) has a 3-2-5 line in 11 games for Salve Regina University this season.
Greenwich native Cam Atkinson (Avon Old Farms) is currently the leading scorer for Boston College with a 20-15-35 line through 25 games. Teammate Pat Mullane (Wallingford, Avon Old Farms) is eighth on the team with 15 points in 25 games played for the Eagles.
